Fried Chicken Sales Spike Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

Fried Chicken Sales Spike Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

With both North America and Europe currently in the midst of a pandemic, Fried chicken sales have exploded. This is due, in part, to the fact that many people are self-isolating and looking for comfort food.

Although complete sales data is not yet available, it is clear that fast food chains such as KFC and Popeye's are seeing a significant increase in demand for their fried chicken offerings. In the United States, for example, KFC sales were up by 6% in the week of March 15th compared to the same week last year.

It is not just KFC and Popeye's that are benefiting from this trend; other fast food chains such as Wendy's and Burger King are also reporting increased sales. This can be partially attributed to the fact that many people are now avoiding restaurants altogether in order to reduce their risk of exposure to COVID-19.

So far, there does not appear to be any decline in demand for fried chicken even as the pandemic continues to spread. This suggests that, for many people, fried chicken is seen as a comforting dish that provides them with some solace during these difficult times.
